Biography
Mark grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and attended Wofford College. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business economics and a minor in government, he spent several years working as a banker in Charleston.
Finally realizing his true calling, Mark returned to Columbia to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law.
As a law student, Mark served as Associate Justice of the USC Mock Trial Team, President of the South Carolina Association for Justice Student Bar, and Social Vice-Chairman for the USC School of Law Student Body. He also found time to clerk for the South Carolina Senate and complete an externship with the Supreme Court of South Carolina.
Following law school, Mark accepted a job at Chappell, Chappell & Newman, where he has recovered millions of dollars for clients in cases involving tractor-trailer collisions, dog bites, motor vehicle collisions, wrongful death lawsuits, consumer law violations, and premises liability claims.
Mark is active in several organizations that work to diligently advance the practice of law. He serves as the South Carolina Revitalization Board Member to the American Association for Justice (AAJ), and he’s heavily involved with the South Carolina Association for Justice, the AAJ Trucking Litigation Group, the Richland County Bar Association, and the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar.
In his rare free time, Mark enjoys hanging out with his family, working on old cars and boats, and cheering on his Gamecocks and Wofford Terriers!
